Battery Park City Overview
As the New York economy boomed in the 90's, a luxury residential community blossomed in the Financial District. Residential buildings are located throughout the Financial District, with the majority of residences in Battery Park City.  

September 11th, temporarily altered residential life in the Financial District; however regular activities have resumed with the added benefit of reduced rents to attract people back to the area. 


Battery Park City Residents & Culture
During the day, the hustle of a great commercial center can be felt everywhere, but at night the Financial District residences are calm and peaceful. The relaxed nightlife here consists of local pubs and eateries. Restaurants range from four star restaurants to deli's and fast food.

The Financial District residents are primarily non-commuters who work in the area. On weekends, residents gather at the beautiful Battery Park or the South Street Seaport pier.

Battery Park City Residences & Rents
Financial District residences are primarily commercial buildings that have been converted into huge luxury apartment complexes, usually with majestic views of the water and uptown. The apartments here are not cheap, however rents are very reasonable when the luxuries and living spaces of these modern apartment buildings are considered.

Battery Park City Transportation & Commuting
The Financial District has excellent transportation. Proximity to the Brooklyn Bridge, the Holland Tunnel make travel to Brooklyn and New Jersey convenient. This is also served by all major subway lines. And, if you work downtown, you are walking to work anyway.
