Harlem West Overview
Harlem starts at 125^th Street on the West side and 100^th Street on the east side and extends north to the Bronx. Contrary to popular perception, Harlem has a lot to offer its residents. The crime is over exaggerated, the surroundings are eclectic and multi-cultural and the old brownstones give a feel of great history. The assimilation of immigrants and foreigners give this area a unique feeling and helped the area to develop into a thriving commercialized, albeit, high-density population. Rising rent prices may throw you off, but this is counterbalanced with the easy access to downtown Manhattan or uptown to the Bronx & Yankee Stadium.
