This historical adobe house with an adjacent log studio sits on 40 acres of an organic berry farm and is surrounded by national forest and is part of an eco-lodge. The nearby log cabins housed writers Aldous Huxley wrote in one of the cabins and we found water colors and by D.H. Lawrence and letters to the publishers by Frieda Lawrence in our attic. The house has 500 sq ft log cabin room, adjacent to the house, is a great place to socialize, watch movies and play games. It also provides an extra eating area. Claw foot bathtub and shower in the bathroom. The house has new stainless steel appliances. It has two queen size beds and two single beds. The sun room provides passive solar gain, a beautiful and efficient fire place with a heatilator and additional air heat pumps, powered by solar, provide efficient heat and keeps you cozy. House is in close proximity to hiking paths, fishing streams and skiing. Horse trail rides throughout the San Cristobal Canyon, see link below. Pets are negotiable, absolutely no smoking inside.
Taos is only 11 miles away and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River only 30 minutes away. Taos Ski Valley reminds us of the Swiss/French/Austrian founders roots blended with the traditions and customs of the local friendly and Pueblo Indian cultures. Being the home of extreme skiing, this is just not a resort for experts, with many beginner and intermediate runs. The ski school is one of the nations best. It also has an excellent childrens day care and ski facility, both skiers and snowboarders are welcome.
Taos is home to more than twenty sites on the National Register of Historic Places. The Taos Pueblo has been occupied for nearly a millennium and is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the Unites States. The Taos Pueblo was added as an Unesco World Heritage Site in 1992 as one of the most significant historical cultural landmarks in the world;
